We were at a baseball game in WI and he stuck a sticker on his nose.

Day 26 - Light Box Construction
Well, I did it! I built a light box. I need to pick up some tag board tomorrow to replace the tissue I'm using for backing paper but that was all I had available tonight. I also think I need stronger light bulbs.
I have another much larger box I want to create one from but that will need to wait a bit. I'm going to focus on the small items for a bit. In any case I was able to take some nice photos of some earrings I want to sell on eBay.

Day 20 - Light Box Light
I found this light a few weeks ago at work and no one wanted it. Last night I came across directions to make my own light box (see the laptop image). I'll need to get a new bulb for the lamp but I'm excited to create this for myself! I'll take photos of the process and share them. Especially if it works!

Day 19 - Hues of Blue
As I was leaving Physical Therapy this evening I was struck by how beautiful the range of blues in the sky were. I remembered I had my point and shoot in my purse so I rolled down my window and snapped a few photos. I realize I needed a tripod for a sharper image but I kind of like the hazy trees in the dusk. And yes, that IS the moon.

Day 18
"MLK day ON not day off" event co-sponsored by my school district and our city. There were many community (both local and far away) organizations set up with hands on projects. We decorated dog dishes for the Humane Society, made bookmarks for Literacy, toiletry bags for the local homeless shelter, letters for Veterans of WWII, and a program called "Reach for Change" which is helping Darfur. It was a wonderful experience and my 10yo "in the stripes" told me he really enjoyed participating for this event. We both walked away with a great feeling about volunteering!

Day 17
My boy is busy listening to youtube videos of MegaMan so he can find out clues for his DS game. I love hearing him sing or laugh when he has his headphones on!
Day 16
I'm working very hard to eat better. I also need to spend more wisely so I purchased some items in bulk and portioned them out. I know if I have a box of crackers, etc. open I will eat the entire box. By having them portioned I'm hoping I will be more aware of what goes in my mouth.
Day 15
I'm trying VERY hard to stay on my eating plan. We went out for dinner and although my friends and my son got hamburgers and hot dogs I remained strong and had a grilled chicken breast. I did loose my strength when the fries were sitting in front of me but I only had a handful. They were yummy!
Day 14
These are glass peppers that were blown by a friend of my family's. I love these. The bowl I pained at one of those pottery stores. I'm just not as talented. lol!
Day 13
This is the sunrise out my bedroom window. It had been cloudy and overcast for days. It was a blessing to see this view when I awoke.
Day 12
Early release day. I think the kids were excited to leave school early but some of them might get cold in the snow because of what they left behind.

Day 9
Today I took my first Photography class since high school (28 years ago). We were learning about White Balance. Here is a collage of my experimentation with White Balance. They guy in front of me (named Guy) wore the perfect shirt for me and I've never even met him before. LOL!

Day 8
Somewhere in my apartment is an SD card which I need in order to use my new camera! I misplaced it after I uploaded my photos last night and before I went to take a photo first thing this morning. Where could it have gone?

Day 7
We didn't have a snow day today so we got to play outside in the snow at recess. I was out there for an hour covering both the 1,2,3 grade recess and the 4,5 recess. It was really fun and I'm so glad I decided to bring my camera! I took a lot of photos but I don't have permission to post the student's faces so I selected this shot of creative digging for my day 7 photo.

Day 6
This morning my 10 year old son was finishing up his book report on Albert Einstein. When is it due...oh today. Why didn't he finish it before the morning of? Well, anger and frustration got in the way. I could title this 'calm after the storm'...but I'm just glad for the calm!
Day 5
So I need to lose weight and I found this GREAT little free app called LoseIt! and downloaded it on my (mom's) iTouch (last year). I started using it this past Saturday. I found a handfull of PLN members who wanted to use it also and we've connected through the app itself. Now I can journal what I eat AND be held accountable! I would like to lose 74 pounds by this time next year. I'm sure some of my photos will revolve around my lifestyle changes and hopefully the need for a new wardrobe!
Day 4
First day back at school/work after two weeks off. These are only some of the books I need to shelve. Our Librarian is really good at getting students to check out and read books...I am not as good at returning them to the shelf. It will probably take me a couple of days because they just keep piling up! Sometimes I wish I could wiggle my nose like Samantha!

edtech365/2010 - Day 3
Today I made tomato/cabbage stew. I used to have a fabulous recipe for it but lent it to someone a decade or so ago and forgot whom to. Now I just make it up as I go along. My apartment smelled so good all day as this tub-o-warmth simmered over the stove. I had one small bowl and yup, I just had to have another one. I'm hoping this will help kick-start my need to get healthy. (I'm also hoping there are no cabbage after effects while I'm at work in the Library)! :)

Day 2:365/2010
Frozen downspout from the apartment building I live in. I think it is interesting how the water is frozen in what appears to be a rectangle. How exactly does it freeze on the way down? Oh sun please move over just a tiny bit and warm us up!

edtech365/2010 - Day 1
My first photo for the 365 challenge. I am fortunate to have had friends in my life who were so wonderful that even when we've lost touch for years (decades) we can be together like no time has passed. I spent New Year's with a friend from High School. We are both single moms to fourth grade sons. Laughing with her makes me feel 16 again!
